Wall Colmonoy Expands Vacuum Brazing Capacity with New Ipsen Furnaces
Wall Colmonoy Corporation is expanding its vacuum heat-treating and brazing capabilities with the addition of new vacuum furnace technology at facilities in Oklahoma City and Cincinnati, a move aimed at increasing production capacity for aerospace and industrial applications.
The company recently announced the installation of a second Ipsen TITAN H6 vacuum furnace at its Oklahoma City operation, which manufactures heat exchangers and other components for the aerospace and defense sectors. Wall Colmonoy has also placed an order for an additional TITAN H6 furnace for its Cincinnati facility, with delivery expected later this year.
Increased Capacity for Aerospace Manufacturing
The newly installed furnace in Oklahoma City is designed to support high-vacuum brazing processes used in the production of critical aerospace components. The system features a 36-inch by 48-inch by 36-inch graphite hot zone, a 3,000-pound load capacity, operating temperatures up to 2,400 degrees Fahrenheit, and temperature uniformity within ±10 degrees Fahrenheit.
According to the company, the additional furnace capacity will help meet growing production requirements for stainless steel and nickel-alloy heat exchanger cores used in aerospace and defense applications.
The Oklahoma City facility previously installed its first Ipsen TITAN H6 furnace in 2017, making the latest addition part of a continuing investment in manufacturing capabilities.
Ongoing Investment in Heat Treating Technology
The expansion reflects broader industry trends as manufacturers continue investing in advanced heat-treating and vacuum brazing technologies to support precision manufacturing requirements.
Vacuum brazing plays a critical role in aerospace production, enabling manufacturers to join complex assemblies while maintaining the material integrity and performance standards required for demanding operating environments.
By increasing vacuum furnace capacity, manufacturers can improve throughput, support larger production volumes, and enhance process consistency for high-value components.
Long-Term Partnership Supports Growth
The latest installations also continue a long-standing business relationship between Wall Colmonoy and Ipsen, which spans more than five decades.
Company representatives noted that the investments are intended to strengthen production capabilities while supporting customer demand across aerospace and industrial markets.
Founded nearly 90 years ago, Wall Colmonoy specializes in engineered materials, surfacing solutions, brazing products, and precision manufacturing services. The company serves a range of industries, including aerospace, energy, industrial manufacturing, and defense.
As demand for advanced manufacturing technologies continues to grow, investments in vacuum heat-treating and brazing equipment remain an important component of production strategies throughout the aerospace supply chain.
