UK-based tube bending innovator Unison Ltd has announced significant upgrades to the Pneuform range of wire and small diameter tube bending machines—just over a year after acquiring the brand. These enhancements aim to improve usability, productivity, and cost efficiency across industries such as HVAC, automotive, and beverage equipment manufacturing.

Integrated Unibend-Wire Control and Simulation

At the core of the improvements is Unison’s proprietary Unibend-Wire system, which integrates advanced CNC control with 3D simulation technology. Adapted from Unison’s existing Unibend and Opt2Sim Suite, this new platform delivers real-time design validation, CAD file imports and intelligent bending instructions.

The inclusion of digital twin technology allows operators to visualize parts in 3D before production, reducing trial-and-error and enabling right-first-time results. Optimized part cycle times and automated transitions between bends further enhance throughput.

Operator-Friendly Features and Flexibility

Unison has introduced a new integrated console featuring a 15-inch touchscreen for intuitive operation. The platform supports YBC file formats, repeat-form creation and batch or shift programming. A handheld pendant and robust Yaskawa drive system ensure both ease of setup and durability.

Additionally, springback compensation improves precision, and a new rotary spin cut unit enhances tube cutting capabilities. Notably, Emergency Stop Recovery (ESR) reduces waste by preserving progress in the event of interruptions.

No Price Increase for Enhanced Capabilities

Despite the extensive upgrades, Unison confirmed there will be no increase in pricing for the improved Pneuform machines.

“We’re delivering greater performance, flexibility, and user-friendliness—without raising costs,” said Alan Pickering, Joint Managing Director of Unison Ltd. “It’s a major step forward for Pneuform and its users around the globe.”
