TRUMPF Electronics Opens Southeast Asia Technical Center, Showcases Innovations at SEMICON SEA 2025
TRUMPF Electronics, a global leader in plasma power supplies for semiconductor manufacturing, has officially launched its Southeast Asia operations with the opening of a regional technical center in Malaysia. The announcement was made in conjunction with its participation at SEMICON Southeast Asia (SEA) 2025, one of the region’s premier semiconductor industry events.
Located in Kota Damansara, just outside Kuala Lumpur, the new facility is designed to support advanced semiconductor manufacturing in the region. Equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, the center provides services such as product fitting, maintenance, repair, and professional training for international equipment manufacturers. TRUMPF also plans to invest in local workforce development, aiming to strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global semiconductor supply chain.
TRUMPF Electronics’ plasma systems are widely used across key technology sectors including semiconductor, solar, display, and industrial coating industries. Their high-efficiency radio-frequency (RF) generators and matching networks support critical processes like plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), physical vapor deposition (PVD), etching, and ion implantation. With energy efficiencies of up to 80%, the company’s plasma power supplies contribute to more sustainable, cost-effective production.
At SEMICON SEA 2025 in Singapore, TRUMPF Electronics showcased its TruPlasma RF Generator and TruPlasma Match series. These systems are known for real-time process control, ensuring plasma stability and production reliability in high-tech environments. Attendees learned how TRUMPF’s solutions are supporting next-generation chip manufacturing and enhancing productivity across Southeast Asia.
“Southeast Asia has emerged as a strategic hub for semiconductor growth, fueled by digital transformation and increasing demand for advanced chips,” said Dariusz Czaja, Managing Director of TRUMPF Electronics Asia. “Our investment in Malaysia reflects our long-term commitment to supporting the region’s development with cutting-edge plasma technology and localized service.”
The new technical center adds to TRUMPF’s growing footprint in Asia, which includes facilities in Japan and service coverage for markets such as Vietnam and Thailand.
With Southeast Asia becoming an increasingly important part of the global semiconductor ecosystem, TRUMPF Electronics’ expansion underscores the company's role in enabling high-performance, energy-efficient manufacturing for the future.
