SSSI Names Lauren McCallin CEO and Patrick McCallin COO
Steel Storage Systems, Inc. (SSSI), a Commerce City, Colorado-based manufacturer of racking, conveyor and material handling systems for steel service centers, has appointed Lauren McCallin as chief executive officer and Patrick McCallin as chief operating officer.
The appointments mark the company’s transition to its third generation of McCallin family leadership. The family has led the company continuously for 67 years.
Lauren McCallin previously served as SSSI’s COO beginning in 2023. She became CEO following the McCallin family’s completion of a buyout of the company’s previous ownership in 2025.
Patrick McCallin has worked in several areas of the company, including manufacturing, sales and installation, and now assumes the COO position.
Brian McCallin, who served as company president from 1995 through 2025, will remain involved with SSSI as a member of the board of directors. In that role, he will continue to contribute to company strategy and institutional knowledge.
“Our family founded and grew this business through strong relationships with our clients and our team,” Lauren and Patrick McCallin said in a statement. “That’s the standard we are committed to carrying forward.”
SSSI Continues Family Ownership
SSSI was founded in Commerce City in 1958 and was established as Steel Storage Systems, Inc. in 1964. The company designs and manufactures storage racks, conveyors and material handling systems for steel service centers across the United States.
The leadership appointments continue the company’s family-owned and operated structure, with Lauren and Patrick McCallin representing the third generation of family leadership.
The transition follows Brian McCallin’s three decades as president. His continued role on the board provides a connection between the company’s previous leadership and its current management team.
The company’s products are designed for steel service center applications, where storage, material movement and handling systems are used as part of production and distribution operations.
