S.A.F.E. Structure Designs, a defense contractor specializing in support equipment and precision test systems, has announced it has been awarded multiple contracts. These contracts involve designing, engineering, and manufacturing specialized tooling and test stands for the U.S. Air Force’s T-38 Talon aircraft.

Under these agreements, S.A.F.E. Structure Designs will focus on rebuilding and modernizing critical legacy tooling. This equipment, which had become outdated or no longer existed, is reportedly essential for accurate testing, calibration, and maintenance of the T-38’s engines, transmissions, and other vital components.

The newly engineered test stands are intended to support Yulista Integrated Solutions, which recently secured the T-38 Talon Repair, Inspection, and Maintenance (TRIM) program from the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. Yulista selected S.A.F.E. Structure Designs after a review process, citing the company's capabilities, certified quality system, and record of delivering precise and cost-effective solutions.

Johnny Buscema, President & CEO of S.A.F.E. Structure Designs, stated, “We’re deeply thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside Yulista and the United States Air Force. At SAFE, we see each project as a calling to provide excellence with integrity — creating tools and systems that protect lives and strengthen those who protect ours.

S.A.F.E. Structure Designs' AS9100-certified quality program and its track record of meeting demanding timelines, often ahead of schedule and under budget, were noted as key factors in its selection.

This award extends an ongoing working relationship between S.A.F.E. Structure Designs and Yulista. The two companies have previously collaborated to support various branches of the Department of Defense, including the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, providing maintenance solutions across military fleets.
