Kloeckner Metals announced the installation of a state-of-the-art Schuler coil-fed Laser Blanking Line at its Queretaro, Mexico, facility. The line, set to begin production in mid-2026, will be housed in a 93,700-square-foot expansion of the facility. This new technology strengthens Kloeckner’s position in metal blanking solutions, offering greater flexibility, efficiency, and cost savings for customers.

Kloeckner has partnered with BWD Technologies LLC, a leader in laser blanking solutions, to complete the installation. The line offers several key benefits, including:

  • Cost Reduction: Eliminates the need for die-building, tool maintenance and storage.
  • Faster Lead Times: Real-time engineering changes enable quicker trials and production cycles.
  • Scrap Reduction: Optimized nesting minimizes material waste, leading to cost savings.
  • Extraordinary Processing Capability: Handles aluminum and steel blanks, with thicknesses from 0.02 inches to 0.10 inches, widths up to 74 inches, and lengths up to 175 inches. The line can produce over 6 million blanks annually.

The new laser blanking line will enhance Kloeckner’s capabilities across its 55 facilities in the U.S. and Mexico, helping meet growing customer demands with advanced, high-speed technology.
