International Technologies Introduces NK23 MySpot Resistance Spot Welder
International Technologies, Inc. has announced the availability of the NK23 MySpot resistance spot welder, manufactured by Koyo Giken.
The system is designed to address common limitations associated with traditional resistance welding, including setup complexity and surface marring that can require additional finishing processes.
Designed for a Range of Fabrication Applications
According to the company, the NK23 MySpot spot welder is suited for a variety of metal fabrication applications, including switchboard panels, NEMA enclosures, steel furniture, tool chests, vending machines, compressor housings and automotive components such as car doors.
The NK23 series features a redesigned horizontal welding gun intended to improve access to deep or narrow work areas. Dual-arm models include a vertical gun configuration designed for applications such as stud and nut welding, as well as components with tall or confined geometries.
Ergonomics and Usability Enhancements
The system incorporates several ergonomic improvements aimed at reducing operator fatigue. International Technologies reports that the force required to move the welding arm has been reduced by up to 53%, while the effort needed to position the H-gun has been reduced by up to 91%.
The machine also features “floating” welding guns, which allow operators to position the welding tip more easily. The design is intended to simplify operation and reduce the need for complex fixturing or setup, potentially improving production efficiency.
High-Speed Welding and Quality Control
The MySpot system utilizes high-speed welding technology that delivers a short burst of current—approximately 0.001 seconds—to reduce heat input and minimize surface deformation. This approach is designed to produce cleaner welds with less visible marking compared to conventional resistance welding methods.
The NK23 series includes high-pressure welding capability rated at 3.8 kN, along with automated parameter control. The CNC system adjusts welding settings based on material type and thickness.
Digital Features and Production Management
The NK23 MySpot is equipped with the EZK touch panel, which includes features such as barcode scanning for offline part programming, weld sequence optimization and production management tools. A graphical interface displays recommended weld locations to help reduce operator error, while weld history tracking supports maintenance and traceability.
The introduction of the NK23 MySpot reflects ongoing developments in resistance spot welding technology, with a focus on automation, usability and weld quality in modern manufacturing environments.
