Platinum Tooling Technologies, Inc., the exclusive importer of Heimatec live tools and angle heads in North America, has announced the availability of an expanded lineup of Heimatec speed increasers designed for CNC lathes and Swiss-style machines.

The speed increasers are engineered to enhance spindle rpm capabilities across a wide range of machine platforms, from large turning centers to compact Swiss-type CNC lathes. According to the company, the product line includes gear ratios of 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4, supporting maximum speeds of up to 48,000 rpm.

Heimatec speed increasers are offered in multiple design configurations, including straight, offset, 90-degree, and universal adjustable models. Tooling options are available with either internal or external coolant delivery. Mounting interfaces include BMT, VDI, and Swiss-style machine connections, allowing compatibility with a broad range of machine tool setups.

The increased availability of speed increasers reflects ongoing growth in high-precision and high-volume manufacturing sectors, including medical device production. As component sizes continue to decrease, smaller cutting tools are required, often necessitating higher spindle speeds to maintain cutting performance and surface finish. Speed increasers help address these requirements by enabling higher rpm without modifying the base machine.

Platinum Tooling reports that Heimatec speed increasers for Citizen, Tsugami, and Star Swiss-type machines are currently in stock. Models designed for BMT turrets, including those used on Nakamura, Miyano, DN Solutions, and Haas machines, are also available. Additional configurations can be supplied from factory inventory with short lead times.

According to the manufacturer, the speed increasers are built with high-quality components to support precision machining, extended tool life, and increased productivity. The tools are intended for use in both job shop environments and OEM production operations seeking to optimize machining efficiency.
