CLARK Material Handling Receives 2025 KEMI Destiny Award for Workplace Safety
CLARK Material Handling Company has been recognized with the 2025 Destiny Award by Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI) for excellence in workplace safety. Out of more than 18,000 KEMI policyholders across Kentucky, only 27 organizations received this distinction, placing CLARK among a select group of safety-focused employers.
This marks the ninth time CLARK has earned the Destiny Award, highlighting the company’s long-standing commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. The award was presented on December 17, 2025, during KEMI’s annual Destiny Award ceremony in Lexington, Kentucky. Jamie Gifford, EHS specialist at CLARK, and members of CLARK’s Safety Committee were featured in photos from the event, reflecting their role in fostering a proactive safety culture.
The KEMI Destiny Award recognizes organizations that exemplify the motto, “Control your own destiny,” by investing in strong safety programs, conducting consistent training and encouraging employee engagement to make safety a shared responsibility. CLARK was selected based on its formal safety program, on-site training, regular safety meetings and demonstrated continuous improvement in hazard awareness.
“Destiny Award winners comprise an elite group of organizations demonstrating ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of Kentucky’s workforce by emphasizing safety every day,” said Jon Stewart, president and CEO of KEMI.
For CLARK, the award underscores the company’s values.
“Safety is foundational to how we work, how we lead, and how we build,” said CLARK President & CEO Chuck Moratz. “The same culture of care and accountability that protects our employees is engineered into the products we design and manufacture. This recognition belongs to our entire Kentucky team, who make safety a priority every single day.”
CLARK Material Handling has a century-long legacy of innovation and reliability in material handling equipment. Founded in 1917 with the invention of the forklift by Eugene Clark in Buchanan, Michigan, the company has sold more than 1.4 million forklifts worldwide. Its product portfolio includes forklift trucks powered by electric or combustion engines with capacities from 1.5 to eight tons, reach trucks, warehouse trucks, tow tractors and a wide range of services.
