ANCA Releases InsertsPRO Software for Indexable and Special Insert Grinding
ANCA, a manufacturer of CNC grinding technology, has announced the launch of InsertsPRO, a new software package designed for special and indexable insert grinding. The software aims to support manufacturers in the global insert market by providing a unified platform for producing both ISO-standard and customer-specific inserts.
According to company representatives, InsertsPRO is engineered to streamline the production of inserts used in milling and turning machines. The software supports a wide range of applications, from standard catalog items to custom geometries required for optimized machining tasks.
Eduard Kleinschmidt, ANCA Inserts Product Manager, stated that the software addresses market demand for a universal, high-performance solution. "With unmatched flexibility and automation, it empowers our customers to produce inserts efficiently, accurately, and profitably - all within one intuitive software environment," Kleinschmidt said.
Integration and Compatibility The new software is fully integrated into ANCA’s existing ToolRoom RN35 workflow. Manufacturers utilizing ANCA’s MX7 platform can access the full functionality of InsertsPRO, while process optimization—such as wheel capacity management and cost reduction per part—remains compatible with other ANCA platforms.
The software is designed to handle the specific needs of various industries, including automotive (threading tools), aerospace (profile inserts), and medical machining (custom geometries).
Key Features and Capabilities InsertsPRO includes several technical features aimed at improving productivity and reducing downtime:
-
Advanced Simulation Tools: Offers high-resolution 3D visuals, grinding path simulation, and integrated measurement capabilities.
-
Flexible Design Options: Includes a profile editor and DXF overlay with precise lead-in/out control for profile and rake face design.
-
Multiple Cutting-Edge Support: Facilitates uniform edge geometry with automated X-axis rotation.
-
Clamping Flexibility: Allows for fast changeovers through advanced transformation of clamping orientation.
-
CIM3D Integration: Provides process validation, collision detection, and optimization to support "first time-right" production.
Addressing Industry Trends The release of InsertsPRO comes as indexable inserts continue to represent a significant portion of global cutting tool consumption. Manufacturers face increasing pressure to reduce setup times and manage frequent changeovers while maintaining tight tolerances.
Kleinschmidt noted that the platform is positioned as an Industry 4.0 solution, designed to transform insert grinding into a smarter, more automated process. By combining automation with precision, ANCA aims to help tool manufacturers scale efficiently and adapt to evolving applications in advanced materials and complex geometries.
Existing users of ANCA's ToolRoom software can upgrade to access the new suite of InsertsPRO features.
